Step 2: Connect
Connect is defined as bringing something into contact so that a link is established.
Establishing links are crucial to forming relationships, in our advice process this means getting to know you. We believe this step is a natural progression from engaging with you to connecting with you. In the first step we drafted an outline now we need to add detail and colour to the picture.
We need to gain perspective on everything that matters to you. While doing this our goal is also to make connections for you between what matters, your values and your goals. This is a reflective process where we put you in the centre and unpack what you really want.
We often assume our own values, goals and what is important are aligned an linked but often the connection is not clear. Our habits and old ways of thinking trip us up and put us on a different path. Our actions do not always align with our goals, if our actions did align we would always achieve our goals.
This step of connecting is fundamental to creating a vision and looking at objective steps we can take. We are connecting with you while helping connect the dots for you. With some collaboration later in this process we turn this connected vision into a plan. When you are able to connect this vision to a plan we find a purpose and direction. This purpose gives us the discipline when we need it.
The next step is going to be exploration, we will be researching, rethinking and looking at the possible routes we can take to this vision.
